Italy: Country in Focus 2024

The Country in Focus initiative provides a unique platform for the Italian film industry and filmmakers to showcase their work. » Italy in Focus at EFM is an important stage for Italian filmmakers, enabling their content to reach new audiences and generate export opportunities. The main programme offers plenty of networking opportunities with Italian producers, distributors, investors, creators, and provides insights into Italian productions.

Italian Producers Day

We are looking forward to a session on » Film and Audiovisual Funding in Italy, offering an occasion to navigate the Italian film financing and regulatory landscape and to uncover the opportunities of co-producing with Italy.
Afterwards, nine production companies will present their work and projects as part of the » Italian Independent Producers Presentation. Take the opportunity to connect with projects looking for co-producers & financiers and meet with independent producers to establish valuable connections, exchange ideas, and explore potential collaborations.

Italy at the EFM Industry Sessions

Distinguished speakers and experts from Italy will also take the stage during this year’s EFM Industry Sessions. We’re looking forward to them contributing valuable insights and perspectives to talks and panels on diverse topics such as current challenges for producers, indie animation or distribution trends for online releases. You can find all events listed in the » EFM Event Schedule.

As, for the fifth time, the EFM shines a light on archives and archival research, we are delighted to have a delegation of Cinecittà’s Luce Historical Archive on board to share their experience and expertise around audiovisual archives. Find more information on the Archive Market » here.

Special Event: Celebrating Connections  (RSVP until FEB 12)

» Celebrating Connections, taking place on Monday, February 19, 5 – 7pm at Gropius Dome, is a format that aims to make audiovisual professionals more aware of the many Italian talents in the audiovisual field, those of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Its main goal is to promote the Italian audiovisual and cinematographic culture and industry worldwide and to establish new connections between Italian and international producers creating new synergies in the industry between Italy and other countries.
